With open minds we next headed to Sedona, Arizona!

Our time was limited and we had no plans to go to Sedona until we found out that one of my son's best childhood friends, Kai, lived there. Also, I was curious about Sedona because I had heard about the flying saucers and spiritual vortices and the thriving art community. So, we went to connect with Kai.

Turns out, reconnecting with Kai was worth the drive. He knows a lot about the local scene and is an avid hiker. Sedona is well known for it's natural beauty and we had a good visit thanks to Kai. We had a day to see everything! Kai suggested that we take a hike to an Anasazi dwelling that no too many people know about.

Kai found these ruins while exploring this valley.

Since I lost almost all of my photos, I was pleased that I still had two photos from this hike. In this photo, John is playing the Native flute. The music honors those who lived here and took us back in time to when another played the flute in this place.

Kini got this image of me shooting the ruins. She doesn't take as many photos, but look a these colors!

On our return from the Anasazi dwelling, Kai told us about the Sedona Vortices, centers of spiritual power, healing and revelations. These vortices are passed along from native american legend. We were only a short hike away from the Kachina Rock vortex.

Now, for a bit of weird, the spirit of the Kachina woman appears to me (I think). Luckily for me she said it was ok to get her Photo!

Yes, we would go to Sedona again someday!
